About Me
- Name: Paul Thomas Cahill
- Location: San Francisco, California, United States
Born on 4/18/44, 5 months after the death of my father, son of Irish immigrants. Mother's family had been here since before the Revolutionary War. Mother remarried when 3 months old. Step-father was proverbial son of a bitch. Educated in the public schools in Bay City, MI, attended Delta College in the ‘60s, finally earning an AA in History in ‘74. From ‘63 to ‘65, Attended Greenville College in IL where I studied for the Free Methodist ministry. In September of 1973, after a brief marriage, becoming a surrogate father to Seán Mícheál, I moved to CA, living for 5 years in the LA area. I became employed with first Harbor Belt Line RR and then the Southern Pacific. In ‘79, the SP transferred me to the SF Bay Area, where I have been for the most part ever since (a 2 1/2 year sojourn to Buffalo, NY doesn't count). Before moving to SF, I helped found the Long Beach Actors Theater, becoming its first president. In ‘80, I helped to organize BWMT (Black and White Men Together), joined ECWR (Evangelicals Concerned), Golden Gate Community Church of the Nazarene, Golden Gate Metropolitan Community and Calvary United Methodist, where I was an "unofficial" lay preacher and Bible teacher.
